Having a good evening routine is so important, especially if you want your morning routine to go smoothly. That’s why I decided to integrate my evening routine in my bullet journal! If you read my previous post on my morning routine, you’ll notice that I follow a very similar schedule at night as I do in the morning.

How I Plan My Evening Routine in My Bullet Journal
Like my morning routine, I have two separate evening routines. This is because I have different priorities on nights when I work the next morning, versus nights that fall on the weekend.
When creating my evening routine, I sat down and decided on 3 top priorities for each evening that would make my morning more productive and positive.
For work nights, my priorities revolve around what will make more work morning easier.
- Priority 1: Pack my lunch for the next day, and get my clothes picked out for work. This helps my morning immensely! It’s also super easy to pack your lunch while cleaning up from dinner, leftovers can go straight into your lunch bag. My first priority on my weekend nights is to put aside a bit of time for self care, whether that be taking a bath, taking time to put on comfy pjs and read a book, or going for a walk to the ocean.
- Priority 2: My second priority, in both variations of my routine, is to tidy up my house. Nothing makes me happier waking up then having it be clean and tidy!
- Priority 3: Work on my blog/social media – this can involve anything to do with my planning, bullet journal, or blogging.
I’ve also laid out a rough schedule for myself, where I can plot out my priorities to ensure that they get done. It can be so easy to come home from work, sit on the couch, and not get up for 4 hours. Not going to lie, that happens sometimes. It is crazy what a difference that has on my morning routine – I wake up stressed out, rushing around, trying to get everything finished. That is NOT how I want to start my day!
I keep my schedule pretty open ended because I do know that plans can change, I could work late one day, or get invited to go and do something at night.
I think it is so important to not be to rigid in your routine, one of the things about life is that you never know what to expect – plans will change, and it’s okay! It doesn’t matter what order I get things done every night; as long as I’ve tried to make the best of my time I will go to bed feeling successful.
