Teaching Thanksgiving Presentation

Ìý

Ðǿմ«Ã½ Arts and Humanities Instructor Seth Sutton will explore the story of Thanksgiving through an Indigenous lens, challenging long-held national myths and uncovering the deeper truths that have been silenced or simplified in mainstream narratives. Grounded in Indigenous history, perspectives, and voices, the discussion will examine how the traditional Thanksgiving story was constructed, what it omits, and how educators, families, and communities can teach this history with honesty and respect. By reframing the holiday, weÌýseekÌýto honor Indigenous resilience, center Indigenous knowledge, and imagine a more truthful and inclusive way of giving thanks.
