Wow, it feels like it has been forever. For that, I am so sorry! You know when life just seems to keep kicking you, and your to-do list keeps piling and piling? Yep, that’s been me the last few months. I thought about not publishing a post like this, and just jumping back in but I realized that isn’t fair to you guys, or to myself.

Zigzags & Zebras Update

Sometimes life happens and it feels like everything is falling apart. That’s a fact of, well, life. I seemingly disappeared off the face of the earth in Spring, and if you’re a member of the Zoo I’m truly sorry that I stopped posting, sharing on social media, and adding to the resource library. I do hope you’ll welcome me back with open arms.

So what happened?

It’s not as easy as just one thing that caused me to stop posting. It was a combination – I was extremely busy at work with my day job, plus taking a licensing course for said day job. I was starting a new relationship. My anxiety was kicking my butt. Lastly – I stopped using a planner. Gasp. I know.

It’s so hard to say that I stopped planning, considering this is a planning blog. But Jessica, aren’t you supposed to have it all together? Yes, I would like if that was the case. However I’m human too, and just like all of you, I’m not perfect no matter how much I’d like to be. I don’t think it’s fair to pretend I’m perfect for you, my readers. Hands up if you’ve also stopped using your planner at some point in your life? That’s right. I bet the majority of you have gone through seasons in your life where it got to be too much, and you’ve just shut down. That’s exactly what happened to me, and I’m not going to pretend like it didn’t.

What’s next?

I’m slowly but surely coming back. I don’t want to jump into the deep end though, because I want to successfully work this blog back into my schedule – the way for me to do that is to slowly walk into the shallow end. I’ve missed this so much – I’ve missed writing and creating, I’ve missed sharing my planning experiences and productivity tips, I’ve missed talking with all of you.

I’ve purchased 2 new planners to help ease myself back in, and so that I can create new content for you! I’m also working on setting up a brand new bullet journal (cause what better way to get back into it than with a new notebook?!) In an upcoming post I’m going to be sharing what my planning will be like going forward, and I’m so excited to share with you. It will likely be a learning curve, and I’m sure there will be plenty of trial and error. However instead of pretending like I’ve got it all figured out (which, truthfully, was what I wanted you all to think months ago), I’m going to be raw and honest in my planning. I’m going to share my mistakes and victories, here on the blog, my instagram, and through my email list.

So, what do you say?

Are you in this with me? Do you want to see the messy planning, the real life ways I manage my day job, blog, relationships and life in general? I sure hope you will be. There’s no one else I’d rather have tag along on this journey. Don’t worry – I think you’ll benefit from this too: I’ll be creating new blog posts weekly sharing planning, organization, and productivity tips. New resources will be coming to The Zoo. I’m hoping to get the Etsy shop back up and running as well. I am so open to any and all feedback as well – Is there anything you want me to write a post about? How about free resources you want to see in The Zoo? Please comment down below, I’d love to create what you want to see.

Thank you again for bearing with me. I couldn’t do this without you.
