We’re officially entering into the eighth month of this year, it’s hard to believe! It’s almost August, which means that people are gearing up to go back to school and coming back from summer vacation. It has been wicked warm here the past couple of weeks, and I think it’s going to stick around into August. The heat has definitely inspired my bullet journal layout this month! I was inspired by the warmth, so I decided to do a cactus theme. I have a fair amount of cactus washi tape laying around, so I took inspiration from that to create all my layouts. To see what I did for July click here; and keep reading to plan with me this August!
As always, if you recreate any of my spreads I would LOVE to see them. You can tag me on instagram here!
I had so much fun creating my cacti-filled spreads this month, and I hope you have just as much following along to them!
August 2018: Bullet Journal Layout
My first two pages this month in my yellow A5 LT1917 include the August title page, and my August at a glance spread. I went with a vertical number layout this month instead of the typical calendar spread. What do you think? Do you prefer to view your month this way, or in calendar form?
Don’t you just adore the metallic elements on the cactus washi?! I seriously can’t get enough! You’ll also note the cactus that I’ve managed to keep alive in alot of these photos – I have to admit it’s been the help of my plant care collection in my bullet journal. It has been a lifesaver when it comes to caring for my plants and remembering when to water them!
Mood & Habit Trackers
My mood and habit trackers this month are super fun and basic – I’m excited to put them to use! I find when I have way to much going on on the page I’m less likely to use it. It’s also fun to see it kind of bare, black and white, now as opposed to the colour it will have at the end of the month. Don’t forget to follow me on instagram to see how these turn out by the end of August!
I used basic patterned cardstock with my habit tracker this month – I like the simplicity and how it adds just a pop of colour!
I kept my expense tracker super basic this month, just adding a touch of colour with the cactus washi again! This really does help me with my mindless online shopping and Starbucks trips – it makes me feel guilty to constantly write down all the purchases I make, since I have started tracking each purchase I have slowed down on my spending. Not only does it help my bank account, but when I do allow myself that Starbucks, or that amazon purchase, it feels 10x more special and like a treat!
For the first week of August I’ve gone with a horizontal layout – I typically enjoy vertical, so I’ll have to see how I enjoy it! I also used some stickers for the numbers that I got on clearance. I don’t love it, simply because I had to use a ballpoint pen to write the numbers due to the finish on the sticker. How do you write on stickers? Let me know below in the comments!
