Welcome to 2019! It’s crazy to believe that 2018 is over, and we’re into another year. The new year is my favourite time because I absolutely love the holidays, and I love the feeling of cracking open a brand new bullet journal and setting new goals. My January bullet journal monthly setup is one of the first spreads in my new journal – join me as I show you what I included this month!
January Bullet Journal Monthly Setup
If you looked at how I was migrating journals for 2019, you’ll know that I’ve decided the mood trackers and habit trackers weren’t really working for me. It’s not to say I’ll never try them again in the future – but at this point, I’m not seeing the benefit. So – you won’t see those spreads this time around! If you want to see the other spreads I’m including in my 2019 bullet journal you can check them out here (it’s a post I’ll be continuously updating throughout the year as I add to my journal).
- My new 2019 journal! A dot grid a5 journal from Peter Pauper Press. I bought it from Chapters in Canada but you can find a similar one on Amazon here.
- Tombow dual brush pens.
- Tombow mono drawing pens, 0.1 and 0.3.
- Papermate Flair
- Washi tape from Michaels.
January Title Page
I’m going with a violet and turquoise theme for January and I’m really happy with how it turned out! This year instead of doing subject themes I’m going with colours as I think it may give me a bit more flexibility – and push me to stop gravitating towards the same colours time and time again.
Honestly, I am in love with this page. I don’t even want to write in the boxes. This has got to be my favourite monthly spread to date!
Budget Pages & Expense Trackers
One of my main goals for 2019 is to get my money in order and consistently follow a budget. My budget pages in my bullet journal definitely help me do that! It’s so easy to spend and spend with cards but having somewhere to write down purchases puts them into perspective.
Goals & Memories
Two new spreads for 2019 are going to be monthly goal pages (where I can break down my top yearly goals into more manageable monthly chunks) and a memories page. I happen to know I am getting an HP sprocket for my birthday so I’m looking forward to having a page to put photos & jot down memories of the month!
First weekly spread!
Lastly, I’ve got my first weekly spread of 2019. I’m going with a vertical time blocking layout for the first month of the year. I’ve also included a quote that reinforces my word of the year.
Want to start January off on the right foot? Be sure to sign up for my newsletter if you haven’t already because you’ll get access to The Zoo – a free printable resource library – and I add new resources every single Wednesday! You can sign up in the box above. 🙂
Another one of my goals for 2019 is to officially launch my Etsy shop (I’m designing products as we speak!) – and my newsletter will be the first to hear about it – and they’ll snag a sick discount.
