Hi friends! I don’t know about you, but I’m so glad we’re finally in ~spooky season~. There’s nothing I love more than a warm drink, a fall scented candle, a fuzzy sweater, and a scary movie. I obviously needed to take inspiration from those to create my October bullet journal setup!
How I Set Up My October 2020 Bullet Journal
One thing I wanted to do while setting up my journal for October was to avoid spending hours on the setup, and not on any planning. I decided to jump in and make stickers to speed up the process! If you follow along on Instagram, you’ll know I recently reopened an Etsy sticker shop. I figured I should also be designing some fun stickers for my own planning! If you would like to see monthly bullet journal kits in the shop let me know – it’s something I’m thinking about adding. 🙂
Now, let’s jump in..
I kept the monthly page nice and simple! I hand lettered “hello October” using a Tombow Dual Brush Pen in black, and an Artist’s Loft Brush Pen in orange. The stickers I printed using my HP Envy 4520 (check out my full review here!), and cut with my Silhouette Cameo.
I went spooky for my monthly calendar, going with a blood-splattered text for the October & date dot stickers. I used a sharpie pen for the boxes, a red Staedtler marker for the red outlines, and a gray Mildliner for the days of the week. You will notice that I did NOT measure my boxes before hand lol, so the last week of October is smaller. I’m trying to work on just going with the flow, and not getting caught up on perfectionism in my planner. This is a perfect example of that!
I always like to include a brain dump page in my bullet journal each month, as a sort of catch all for any thoughts I have.
Goals & Projects Page
The last collection I included with the October monthly setup was my Goals and Projects pages. I have been using the Powersheets Goal planner this year to really work on my goals, but I like to include a page in my bullet journal for my goals at a glance, since I don’t always take my Powersheets with me places.
That’s my October bullet journal setup! I hope you took some inspiration, and know that you don’t need to spend hours to setup a functional bullet journal. Stickers are a fun way to add some colour and personality to your planner without taking a whole day to set it up.
