Tombow Fudenosuke Colors Review

I personally have always preferred a hard tip brush pen (like the fudenosuke) to a soft tip brush pen (like the dual brush pens). I think that mostly due to the manoeuvrability of the pen while lettering.

Overall: 9/10

The fudenosuke colors are pretty darn amazing. They’ve come in the basic colours, which includes: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, brown, grey, and black. Of course, I will always ask for MORE colours, but beggars can’t be choosers. They are a great pen if you are just starting out hand lettering.

There isn’t really any faults to these pens that I can find. One thing I did notice was that the colours are a bit “watery” and not as pigmented as I would have hoped or liked. Another thing that bugs me about the fudenosuke colours – and I’ll admit this is a complete pet peeve – is that the black pen has a matte body, but all the other colours have a glossy exterior. I know, I’m insane for even noticing it! However, I’m willing to bet once you notice it you won’t be able to unsee it.
